Where did the name “Colden” originate from?
Colden Company founder, Jim Lapointe, is an avid hiker. His favorite place for hiking is in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate NY, where he is a member of the 46er club. Mount Colden is one of Jim’s favorite climbs.

He is certified by IBM as an AIX administrator, network, security and hardware certified by CompTIA (N+, A+, Sec+) and is a Microsoft Certified Professional. Jim was recognized by Who’s Who of IT professionals and has authored several articles on business continuity planning. Channel Futures named Jim as an “industry disrupter” in 2022 for his commitment to moving the needle on data security. Jim brings an understanding of technology to the issues facing businesses today as well as unparalleled attention to detail and personalized customer service.
